Worldpay Test Card Numbers

Official Access Worldpay test card numbers, with the cardholder-name values that trigger authorised, refused and error results.

In the Access Worldpay Payments API Try environment, the cardholder name sets the result, not the card number. Use a test PAN such as 4000 0000 0000 2701 (Visa) or 5200 0000 0000 2235 (Mastercard). Then set the cardholder name to AUTHORISED, REFUSED or ERROR.

Before you use these

  • These values are for the Access Worldpay Payments API Try environment. Other Worldpay products publish their own test values.
  • Results also depend on account configuration, such as 3-D Secure, FraudSight and auto settlement.
  • These numbers are published by Worldpay for sandbox testing. They are not real cards and cannot be used for a real purchase.

How to use Worldpay test cards

  1. Switch your Worldpay integration to its test or sandbox environment and use test credentials. Live credentials reject these numbers.
  2. Enter a card number from the tables above. Expiry: Not specified by Worldpay. Security code: Not specified by Worldpay.
  3. Start with a successful card to confirm the happy path, then work through the decline and error cards so every failure message in your checkout gets exercised.
  4. Use the trigger values (cardholder-name values) to simulate outcomes that are not tied to a card number.

Worldpay test card FAQ

What are the Worldpay test card numbers?

In the Access Worldpay Payments API Try environment, the cardholder name sets the result, not the card number. Use a test PAN such as 4000 0000 0000 2701 (Visa) or 5200 0000 0000 2235 (Mastercard). Then set the cardholder name to AUTHORISED, REFUSED or ERROR.

Do Worldpay test cards work in production?

No. These numbers are only recognised by the Worldpay test environment and are rejected by the live platform. They are not real cards and cannot be used for a purchase.

How do I test a declined payment with Worldpay?

Worldpay triggers failures through cardholder-name values as well as dedicated card numbers. Both are listed on this page.
