- Start with a successful card to confirm the happy path, then work through the decline and error cards so every failure message in your checkout gets exercised.
Apple Pay test card FAQ
Why do Apple Pay sandbox payments decline?
Apple notes that sandbox transactions decline before fulfilment because the test key does not match your production key. Use them to test the payment sheet and token flow, not settlement.
What OTP or PIN do Apple Pay test cards use?
Enter 111111 if an American Express card asks for an OTP. For China UnionPay, enter 123456 when adding the card and 939393 if a payment asks for a PIN.
What are the Apple Pay test card numbers?
Apple Pay sandbox testing uses special cards added to the Wallet of a sandbox tester's device. Examples are 5204 2452 5046 0049 (Mastercard, expiry 01/30, CVC 111) and 4622 9431 2318 9285 (Visa, expiry 12/2028, CVV 096). Each card has its own expiry and security code, listed below.
Do Apple Pay test cards work in production?
No. These numbers are only recognised by the Apple Pay test environment and are rejected by the live platform. They are not real cards and cannot be used for a purchase.
How do I test a declined payment with Apple Pay?
Use the decline and error card numbers listed on this page. Each one maps to a specific failure your integration should handle.
